AN OPEN RESPONSE TO AN OPEN LETTER FROM MY SKIN!
What? A letter from the skin? Yes, you read it right girl! Just like any of us, even our skin has concerns, emotions and problems. And while it can’t say it out loud, it does send out signals for us to understand the needs and take care of our skin with the proper care and the right products.
Here’s what my skin had to say to me: Open Letter
And here’s my response to the open letter from my skin:
Dear Skin,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I know I don’t say this very often but I do love you, a lot! You are my largest organ. This means that pretty much by definition, I can’t live without you. But let’s be honest — we have a bit of a sordid history, don’t we?
Now can you believe we have spent almost long 27 years together? We always had a love-hate relationship until the last few years. I guess it pretty much started when I was hitting puberty and the first time you started to misbehave. I had never seen a painful and big zit living on my face. And to my horror, it just kept on multiplying. I probably hated you the most then. I had no choice but to stuff you with different products hoping that you’d clam down but soon, you got worse. You continued to act up and parade different bumps all around my face. I had no option but to hide you under whatever makeup I could get my hands on.
Now that I know what caused those breakout then, I feel terrible to put the blame on you. I know you were stressed too because of the hormonal changes and yet I made you suffer more. I spent hours on the internet, looking for the best treatment and technique to cover you up. I was ashamed! And I am sorry! I should have heard you, understand your signals and should have treated you the best.
But now, I am happy that we are friends. Over the years, I have started understanding you better, observing your signals and taking care of you the best way possible. Guess what? Now people ask me about you very often. They stop me on the street to know my secrets to keep you happy. It makes me feel happy, confident and proud. And while I know that we would still get into those occasional fights, I am sure we’ll fix it together.
Hence, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you! Thank you for taking care of me. For protecting me from pollution, stress and the crazy weather. I do stress on picking the best outfit or the perfect shoes to go with my ensemble and spend the least time on you because I don’t have spend hours to cover you up! I now love to flaunt you just as you are. I have learned to embrace you with all your imperfections. And I promise pamper you daily with BoroPlus Moisturizing Lotion. I love you!
